Kimono Wrapper
Let me have this one, she's a total favorite. I see a gentle woman, in a kimono, bent forward, large headdress on top of her head, hands tucked into her garment, contemplating her walk. She's amazing.
What do you see?

I definitely have ancient Egypt in my blood; I love reading about it and I dream about being Howard Carter and discovering King Tut's tomb. I certainly discovered this! I see the profile (looking left) of an ancient mummified egyptian. Turban still on his head, facial features distinguishable, the littlest bit of his neck exposed.
I can't even really believe that this one exists. That leaves and paper came together to create such a great portrait is beyond comprehension. Not only that, this grouping was just about under the back tire of a parked car outside my apt building. Look at this guy: lab / trench coat, funky hat, alligator-type beak, brown pant leg swishing forward with the momentum of his stride. And what's he clutching?
True story: I was walking to coffee one morning and I passed a store on Washington Ave. It's owned by Chris. I wondered if I would see him there but it was early so he wasn't. I got my coffee and sat down out back on the wooden deck the shop had built. I looked down and there in a knot in the wood was Chris!
I stopped short when I saw this on the ground. I was on 3rd Ave in Brooklyn, yes, right where the new Whole Foods has gone up. Here was this graceful lady, proud, hair up in a bun, high frilly collar; I named her Victorian Lady. And then someone came to the recent TPP show and said: "That Victorian Lady looks a lot like an angry Clarence the Clown". And you know what? I have to agree!
Ok, this is a funny one: I see Picasso (he has a big nose?) in a beret (wasn't he always wearing a beret?) Stout, sturdy, and in this instance, blindfolded and on skis. What can I say? That's what this looks like.
I See an elegantly-dressed african woman. She's got the most beautiful purple traditional dress on. And, she's carrying a walking stick. I forget what the headdress on her head is called, but I see that, too.
Fish-headed white-eyed crazy Alien saying hi or bye to a bright, white, floating moon.
